Fly, my darling. A love story.

book forthcoming spring 2026 from She Writes Press

Lisa had studied classical piano for years. At forty-four it was time for something new, something free-ing. Her son’s clarinet teacher provided the name of a local jazz musician, and a week later Lisa met Lynda, the remarkable woman whose life would become interwoven with hers in a relationship of wonder and loss, an emotion-charged journey toward self-awareness and freedom. Framed within a classical music structure and composed as poetic prose vignettes, this is their love story.

Searching for the Talisman

An online collection of 28 two-part essays inspired by Il Talismano della Felicità (The Talisman of Happiness), a classic Italian cookbook first published in 1929 and inherited from Lisa’s grandmother. The essays pair an exploration of the book’s recipes and Italian language with personal story and reflections. Images and chapter titles (Allow for surprise, Know what you love, Lose the guilt, Relish simple goodness, Want the truth…) unify the themed collection.
